As of May 2022, there is no non-complex NHS hearing service (AQP) available at RCHT for new patients over the age of 55. This includes hearing assessments, provision of hearing aids and associated consumables, such as batteries, tubes and domes. The only exception to this is on the Isles of Scilly where they will be able to see new and existing patients.
Minimum required information
- Findings of ear examination – the referral will be returned if it does not clearly state that the ears are clear of wax with a normal appearance of the eardrum (TM)
- Known learning disability.
- If referring to:
- AQP – whether a domiciliary visit is required.
- Non-AQP – whether patient is known to audiology or ENT services, and results of any community audiograms, if available.
Exclusions, based on audiogram results (if available)
