Concerns about Dyspraxia/DCD/Coordination Concerns

 

1. DCD Pathway for children between 5 - 11 years (up to end of school year 6) – SENCO REFERRAL ONLY. Please redirect families to school.

 

2. Coordination difficulties outside this age group: Children aged below 5 years of age or 11 to 16 years of age (Secondary school age) with evidence of significant and severe functional impairment relating to a co-ordination disorder or suspected co-ordination disorder and where this functional impairment is significantly out of line with the perceived potential of the child. 

 

All referrals should provide specific and detailed information demonstrating the children’s functional difficulties.

3. DCD assessment via the Neurodevelopmental Pathway

Children or Young people with a more complex picture in whom coordination Is a concern can also be referred to the neurodevelopmental pathway via the Early Help Hub

 

Referral to this team does not guarantee accepted referral. Triage of referral may suggest that School refer to the DCD pathway or that GP/School makes direct referral to Occupational Therapist as above
