Physical Disability Concerns including Coordination Problems

Any evolving Physical Disabilities (see below for possible Dyspraxia / Developmental Co-ordination Disorder)

Children with delayed motor milestones, newly presenting in school

Possible diagnosis of Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (Dyspraxia) ONLY where an Occupational Therapist has already undertaken a Movement ABCand this is suggestive of diagnosis (under 5th centile)
- Refer Neurodevelopment Assessment Pathway if no OT involvement/Diagnosis.
Do not refer to Community Paediatrics:

Hypermobility, joint pains, ‘growing pains’ or possible Ehlers Danlos Syndrome [See Joint Pain and Hypermobility Guideline]
- Paediatric orthopaedic problems [See Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Service]
