ROYAL CORNWALL HOSPITALS NHS TRUST PATIENT HOTLINE – ELECTIVE CARE
This hotline is in place to field enquiries from patients who are on an elective management pathway (awaiting new or follow-up outpatient appointment, diagnostic or elective admission) and are concerned that their condition or symptoms are deteriorating. Patients may have had their treatment postponed as part of the response to the Covid-19 crisis or simply be awaiting their first appointment or next steps in their treatment.
The key aim of the hotline is to:
(a) avoid patients having to return to their GP to raise concerns or expedite care
(b) ensure there is a clear route in for enquiries where patients are concerned about their condition
(c) help avoid patients coming to harm whilst on a waiting list.
The hotline can be contacted by phoning 0800 0357777 or emailing email@example.com. Enquiries are then directed to the appropriate specialty for clinical review and appropriate action.
Please do not forward general enquiries about waiting times or Covid-19 queries to the hotline; they are experiencing many calls which are outside the scope of the service which is frustrating for patients who then have to be redirected.
